President Obama Receives Framework for Marine Spatial Planning

December 10, 2009 -- The Interagency Ocean Policy Task Force this week delivered to the Obama Administration a recommended framework for Marine Spatial Planning (MSP). The framework outlines an ecosystem–based approach for addressing the commercial, industrial, military, and recreational uses and governance of the coastal, ocean and Great Lakes resources of the United States. The report has not yet been publically released, but is expected to be accessible next week. A 45-day comment session is anticipated to follow the public release. The Marine Fish Conservation Network recently submitted comments on the MSP framework to CEQ.

We encourage all groups to join us in sending a letter to President Obama on National Ocean Policy.
